Accessibility
Although this site is still under development, we are working on making it as accessible as possible. The site uses a Content Management System, which in some cases may limit what we can/cannot do, however we will be striving to overcome as many of these issues as possible, as development of this site progresses over the next few weeks/months.
Colours
We have made sure no elements on the site rely on colour alone for its navigation. Also, all colours have been measured with a colour contrast analyser to ensure they pass current accessibility standards.
Forms
The forms are still under development and as a result some accessibility measures still need to be implemented. For example, we are currently using a search form that requires you to press enter (as opposed to using a button for that purpose) to execute the search. This will be addressed as soon as possible.
Some of the forms within the system come as standard within the Content Management System that we are using, therefore some work still needs to be done in order to ensure they are made as accessible as possible. Until then, please do let us know ( ) if you have problems with any of them.
Text resizing
You can resize the text by following these instructions in the major browsers:
- PC/ Internet Explorer 6 From the top menu bar, select View and point to Text size
- PC/ Internet Explorer 7 From the menu bar underneath the search field, select Page and point to Text size
- PC/ other browsers Increase text size: Hold down the CTRL key and press + Decrease text size: Hold down the CTRL key and press -
- Mac / all browsers Increase text size: Hold down the Command key and press + Decrease text size: Hold down the Command key and press -
Access keys
We currently have no access keys enabled on the site. The reason for this is that currently, the use of access keys is under debate and is by some people not considered useful, but rather a hindrance, as it can interfere with some screenreaders. If you have any comments about this please get in touch ( ).
