Tony Orsten is an Academy Award winning television director, channel executive and talent development expert with more than 30 years’ experience in the UK and international creative content industry.
Tony launched TV-am as a founding producer/director. Later at London Weekend Television, he won his first Academy Award with the ground-breaking youth show Network 7. He went on to run a number of media production companies including Chrysalis Television.
He has created, developed and launched successful television formats and entertainment channels for Paramount Pictures Inc in Spain, Italy, Poland and Germany. He was also the CEO of MTV Networks International’s portfolio of entertainment channels.
In September 2006 Tony joined the founders of Skype to launch Joost, the world’s first broadcast-quality television platform on the Internet.
In 2007 he joined twofour54 where he provides strategic leadership for the business to deliver its mission of creating an ecosystem that will enable the content creation industry to flourish in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
